Commodities Middle Office Analyst |

S Supporting a newly established commodity trading desk which is growing very quickly, there is immense opportunity for growth in 2008. The Role The middle-office team is responsible for the accurate trade capture, confirmation, settlements and reconciliation process of all the commodity trading activity. Good experience is required with a background in commodity products such as Power, Metals, Oil, Emissions and Natural Gas. Duties and Responsibilities Draft out-going confirmations and check incoming broker and customer confirmations for Nat Gas, Oil, Emissions, Power and all future new products. Resolve queries from customers and confirmation discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner Involvement in various projects in the team relating to new products, processes or systems. Liaise with customers to confirm trade details and request confirmations Interact with various departments throughout the Firm including Traders, Product Control, Treasury, Documentation and Legal Identify and offer ideas to help streamline and improve processes. Assist in the testing and implementation of system and process improvements Experience Required Detailed understanding of the trade life cycle and confirmations processes Strong technical knowledge around Power, Metals, Oil, Emissions and Gas trades Very organized and able to work to strict deadlines and work under pressure whilst maintaining strong attention to detail. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all areas e.g. Traders, Product Control, Legal and Technology Good communication skills, both verbal and written at all levels. Needs to demonstrate high level of self-motivation and ability to work without supervision.
