Job summary

The role involves researching and calling potential new clients (such as a hotel, restaurant or gallery) and going out to speak to them about Pocket London face-to-face to discuss how appearing in the guides would benefit them. You will need to be polite, presentable, organised and eager to learn. We will provide full training and will be available to support new staff whenever needed.
The successful candidate(s) will be joining the Pocket London team as a Sales Consultant working remotely, increasing the company's sales force and bottom line figures.
Pocket London is an established brand with ten years of producing high quality guides to the capital and is looking for enthusiasm, excellent presentational skills and the ability to work alongside our existing friendly team. As the role will involve working from home, it would suit someone looking for an additional income stream without having to commute and go into full time work and it will be up to the individual how much time they dedicate to the job (although we are expecting at least 10 hours per week to start).



Key responsibilities

?h To source potential new clients and develop good customer contacts (over the telephone, by email and with face-to-face meetings and presentations)
?h To secure advertising contracts working to publishing deadlines within our established guides
?h Represent Pocket London in a polite, presentable and positive manner
?h Use and keep up to date databases ¡V making additions, deletions and notes where needed
?h Liase regularly with the team to highlight any problems and suggest positive changes that could be made
?h Travel into the office (in London) once a month to meet with a manager for progress updates

Minimum Requirements

?h Access to a computer (with broadband connection) and telephone
?h Willingness to travel into London regularly if not already based in the capital
?h Good computer skills
?h Demonstrable communication skills and confidence when speaking to new people
?h Ability to manage own time and work independently at home (with guidance from Pocket London managerial staff when required)

Preferred

?h Experience within a sales-based role, ideally within the publishing industry
?h Knowledge of (and enthusiasm for) London
