| Senior Engineer Urgent GBP33,000 to GBP40,000 per annum Position Description We are currently looking for a mature and experienced Senior Engineer to fill a key technical role within our growing Engineering department. The successful candidate will play a prominent role within the department and should be capable of providing technical expertise across a broad range of technologies. The Senior Engineer should provide input at a comparative level to that of the Engineering Manager with a predominant focus on being a high level technical resource for all aspects of the company. The Senior Engineer should be able to fill a principal technical role in the absence of the CTO and Engineering Manager. Required Experience Essential: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in the industry and be able to show clear and consistent career progression and increasing responsibility in line with a constantly expanding skillset. * Minimum 2 years in a high level technical role (ie. Senior Engineer, IT Manager, etc.) * Demonstrated enthusiasm for expanding technical knowledge and skills. * You must also live within a commutable range of Chelsea (nearest tube is Fulham Broadway) * Be able to speak and write English fluently and clearly *** PLEASE APPLY FOR THE POSITION ONLY IF YOU CAN DEMONSTRATE SKILLS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS *** * Network o IP level networking, including: MPLS Routing Layer 2 and 3 switching VLAN, QOS Firewall configuration o WAN technologies, including: ADSL, SDSL, Leased Lines, LES, WES VPN, ISAKMP, IPSEC o Network Services: DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, SMTP o Network and system design * Hardware o Hardware technologies in use on the managed network, including: Cisco routers, firewalls, access points and switches Sonicwall firewalls Linksys switches and access points Zyxel routers and switches Draytek routers o Server hardware including: RAID configuration Dell and HP server builds and maintenance Blade server builds and maintenance o Storage hardware including: SAN, DAS and NAS technologies Fibre Channel and iSCSI Tape drives and autoloaders * Virtualisation technologies including: o VMWare Server o ESX Server o Windows Virtual Server 2005 * Windows server solutions including: o SBS 2000 and 2003 o Windows Server 2000 and 2003 o Terminal Services o Exchange 2000 and 2003 o SQL Server 2000 and 2005 o WSUS o SharePoint Services o Group policies o Data Protection Manager Salary & Benefits GBP33,000-GBP40,000 per annum Employer Description We are a fast-growing "outsourced IT department" for SMEs, with a blue-chip client list including high-street brands, financial institutions and multinational companies.
