Site engineer building control to gbp21 hour

The role is for Engs to be largely based on the sites of Olympic Stadium, Aquatics venue, other Park venues as they evolve, Olympic village and / or Stratford city (development larger then Bluewater).
The Eng will undertake work normally done by Building Control officers to free up the BCO's for other duties.
Work will broadly involve working on own on one or more of these sites with occasional joint inspections with the Building Control staff.
The Eng will report to a lead Building Control Officer and will also take direction from other BCO's in the team.
The main work is to inspect the following:
The installation of Piling.
The installation of reinforcement to piles, pile caps, ground beams, slabs, walls, columns etc.
Possible drainage systems.
Other Engineering related inspections as necessary as the projects develop.
To generally be the BCO's eyes and ears on site in terms of Engineering matters.
The Eng will be expected to have a good knowledge of Piling and rebar drawings.
They will expected to inspect the elements above, keep records in a form to be agreed with the lead BCO, advise the site rep of small deviations from the drawings and to liase with the lead BCO (who won't be based on site necessarily) and Site rep on major deviations.
The Eng will be expected to understand the commercial pressure Building Control has to operate in these days of competition and act in an appropriate way with our Clients at all times.
The Eng will need to be flexible and willing to work in an environment where the work on site is often in advance of the detailed design and drawing availability. Sometimes the inspections will be without drawings and the notes taken become very important when designs / drawings are eventual available.
