UK FILM COUNCIL - ARAB/ASIAN ACTORS - NO EXPERIENCE ...
We are looking for untrained actors/actresses to take part in a short film Afternoon directed by Fyzal Boulifa, due to be filmed over the 15th - 19th June 2007. This film has received funding from the UK Film Council. This is paid work and a great opportunity to try acting. Ideally we are seeking actors without any/much prior experience, however those with some stage/film credits will also be considered.
We are looking for:
* A Middle Eastern or Asian woman able to play an age of between 45- 55, English language skills do not have to be perfect.
* Young Middle Eastern or Asian girl able to play an age of 14-15 but preferably older than this, should have good English language skills.
* A disabled male of Middle Eastern or Asian background able to play an age of between around 45-55, English language skills do not have to be perfect.
'Afternoon' deals with an Arab family in transition with a particular focus on the roles of women and the effect of living in a western environment. There are not a lot of lines to learn and there could be freedom to contribute to the dialogue.
