The Boat:
This is a steel barge built in the 1930's, it is exceptionally good looking and very well made. It is 40 foot long and is 8 foot 6 inches wide.
The hull consists of double and single riveted seams stiffened with 40mm x 40mm angle frames, forming a spoon shaped stem, round bilge, rounded stern.
The cabin and the wheel house structure is also welded steel.
The engine is a perkins 4.108 four cylinder water cooled diesel engine with hydraulic gearbox.
On board there is a fore deck water tank, full size double bed, a galley with gas water heater , stove and butler sink, sea toilet, shower and a morso squirrel wood burning stove.
The exterior of the boat has been retreated and painted in the last month.
Van De Vecht had a full survey done in 2003, and has a Boat Saftey Certificate valid up until September 2008.
The Mooring:
The boat is being sold on the mooring, this means that once the boat has been bought, its new owners will be allowed to remain on the mooring. The mooring fees at present are 170 a month, and this includes, post box, security, electricity and water.
The mooring is a short walk from Brentford High street, and shopping facilities, as well as a short distance from a regular bus services, and from Brentford Train station.
The people at the mooring are friendly,genuine and enjoy the boat life.
