Press Officer
I am currently recruiting for an established and well respected global investment bank. A leading employer in Europe and a progressive employer in North America and Asia¡¦s emerging markets.
This is a prestigious role and requires someone with previous press or pr experience.
Responsibilities
Reporting to head of Global Markets press and media relations, region Europe, the person will have the following responsibilities:
Provide press office programmes to London based businesses which could include:
?h Initiation and implementation of strategic press programmes
?h Advisory support
?h Crisis management
?h Press events
?h Media training
?h Client management
?h Press monitoring
?h Research
?h Journalist/media trends briefings
?h Maintain forward features/surveys list
?h Provide day-to-day support to the London based global markets businesses, including fielding, co-ordinating and directing press calls to appropriate spokespeople and providing prompt and accurate responses to requests for information by phone, email, fax or post.
?h Develop and maintain strong working relationships with influential journalists. To develop new press contacts.
?h Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients. To develop a wide network of internal contacts and sources.
?h Liaise with other regional press and media relations offices as appropriate.
?h Liaise with group press and media relations as appropriate.
?h Write, manage and co-ordinate the distribution of press releases for London based businesses and to follow up the press release distribution as appropriate.
?h Maintain up to date records of activities for client reporting, development and evaluation purposes
?h Help in any other areas of press and media relations as required
?h Manage distribution of research reports to media and take responsibility for communication between analysts and media
?h Manage PR agencies on specific projects and business lines.
Experience / Requirements
?h PR experience, probably within an agency would be an advantage
?h Strong writing and communication skills
?h Confidence and experience of working with and influencing senior management
?h Financial services retail experience is preferable. Investment banking experience is not necessary, but would be an advantage.
