Job Description

Role
To actively develop and underwrite business in line with Private Client Group authorities to produce an underwriting profit. Areas of focus within the role are:
? Pricing, product development, underwriting and whole account solutions of all lines of business within the PCG account
? A significant contribution to the successful development of new and existing connections
? An input in to the strategic planning of PCG in conjunction with the PCG Underwriting Manager.

Key Accountabilities
? To work in tandem with the Senior Underwriters and the Underwriting manager to assist in the development of underwriting duties.
? Develop and maintain broker relations
? Budgetary responsibilities within said brokers
? Input in to the annual business plan and budget in consultation with the Underwriting Manager and the Manager PCG.
? Monitoring and reporting of progress against the plan and budget to the Underwriting Manager by regular reviews.
? Working closely within the underwriting team and with the Client Service team in the acquisition, profitable growth and effective management of business relationships.
? Working closely with other departments and service providers in AIG to ensure that the PCG proposition is clear and cohesive across all products.
? Identify key accounts and holding brokers with action plan to win business at first renewal
? Identify niche markets/client profile types where AIG can add significant differentiation to existing propositions.
Skills & Knowledge Required

Proven experience in the HNW underwriting sector is preferred.

Property underwriting experience from outside of the HNW sector would be acceptable, but personal lines experience would be more relevant for this position.

Existing broker relationships would be a distinct advantage, along with the ability to develop existing brokers and seek out and develop new ones.

Progression towards the ACII, or willingness to study, would be advantageous.
