Senior Programme Office Analyst
The Senior Programme Office Analyst works as part of a small team within the Business Change department. The team works with an ever-changing portfolio of projects driven by strategic objectives. The delivery of detailed portfolio analysis and maintenance of robust control processes is key to the effective management of the projects portfolio.
The role
The purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive technical analysis of company projects portfolio, for more effective planning and management, and to ensure continuous improvement of portfolio control processes.
Specific accountabilities include:
? Portfolio management and analysis - Development and implementation of wide- ranging research, analysis and modelling, for improved forecasting, planning and management of the portfolio.
? Development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Programme Office processes, software and tools.
? Relationship management - Supporting the Programme Office Manager in maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders within the business, Finance and IT.
? Monitoring compliance with portfolio control processes.
? Providing support and advice to Business Change Managers on all aspects of project governance and controls.
? Financial analysis and sign-off of company Way projects
? Supervision and coaching of junior members of the Programme Office team
? Deputy to the Programme Office Manager
Skills, knowledge and behaviour
Desirable:
? ISEB qualification in Project & Programme Support or equivalent
? IT literate with experience of databases, data management, query and reporting toolsets
? Knowledge of the Common Project Lifecycle and the IT estimating model
? Ability to innovate and proactively improve Programme Office processes
? Commercial awareness and a good understanding of company strategic objectives
? Able to apply logic and reach well reasoned conclusions
? Strong negotiation and influencing skills
? People management experience and coaching skills
? Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
? Educated to degree level or equivalent
Essential:
? Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Access (including writing macros)
? Ability to work independently, under own initiative, without day to day supervision
? Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
? Strong in numeracy, analysis, accuracy and attention to detail
