SEN Teaching Assistant required
This Sandwell based pupil referral unit are currently seeking an experienced teaching assistant to support pupils with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties.
The unit caters for pupils aged 11- 16 and covers most of the subjects on the curriculum. Most pupils are from a disadvantaged background and have been excluded from mainstream schools.
You should have a great sense of humour, a real desire to make a difference to young peoples' lives and be able to inspire disaffected young people by your enthusiasm for education.
You should have at least 6 months' experience working with pupils of this age group and feel confident working with teenagers in a potentially hostile environment.
You should have at least 6 months experience working within an educational facility, and have at least 6 months UK experience, coupled with the right to work within the UK.
Please note that you will need to supply two professional child based references and you will be required to undertake a CRB check (if you do not already hold one) before you commence employment.
