English Teacher required
This pupil referral unit in South Birmimgham are currently seeking an English teacher who can confidently plan and teach up to Key Stage 4.
The unit deals specifically with pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, and therefore the levels of acheivement can vary.
The right person will ideally have experience of working with children with Behavioural, Social and Emotional Difficulties, whether this be in a mainstream or special school. You should have a good understanding of this particular SEN, and have strong empathy and be resilient as the pupils can be extremely challenging.
However, the role is rewarding, the staff are supportive and the facilities are good. You should have a good sense of humour and a real team work ethic.
You should hold UK QTS and all NQTs are welcome to apply.
Please note that you will need to supply two professional teaching references and you will be required to undertake a CRB check (if you do not already hold one) before you commence employment.
