Rail Civil / Structural Designer
Salary
£30k - £40k, based in Hatfield
Role Description
This role involves candidates having a sound knowledge and aptitude in design and design processes. You will be using this knowledge to transfer your skills in to a rail environment. Coming from a civil engineering background you must be able to co-ordinate projects throughout the design process. With this role being in a rail environment, you will be trained in all the relevant policies and procedures that apply within the rail industry that can affect the design process
Typical design projects you could expect to be involved with include temporary structures, bridge strengthening, station modifications and embankment re-enforcement. The projects are mainly London underground oriented. Project values range from basic £50k projects to £30million complex station modifications
Required Experience
Applicants must be degree qualified with at least 2 years design experience in a civil engineering environment (ideally some design experience within the railway). This would suit a strong designer looking to step into a full time rail structures design role
Client and internal liaison is a key part to this role, so candidates need to be able to communicate at all levels and handle the pressure accordingly
Salary and Benefits
£30k - £40k basic salary (dependant on experience), Car/Car allowance, Pension, Healthcare, Bonus scheme
