Essential requirements for this Merchandiser / Planner opportunity include:
Previous experience within a Head Office retail environment with particular emphasis on merchandising and stock control
Proven experience of being responsible for a particular product area
Strong decision making skills
Degree level education
Excellent numerical and IT literacy skills
Ability to deal with strong Buyers and work effectively in a very fast-paced, team environment
Key responsibilities within this Merchandiser / Planner role include:
Identifying and selecting products that meet specific criteria
Liaising with buyers
Monitoring and reviewing sales performance
To be aware of and continually monitor availability of stock
Liaising with Buying or Warehouse to enquire on stock availability
Identifying lines to re-order and proposing quantities identifying key promotion lines
Identifying stock to be returned to vendor
Identifying and reviewing slower moving lines
Prioritising management of aged inventory alongside ?new lines?
Identifying and actioning lines that have run through the life cycle
Analysing stock and sales data and preparing plans going forward for inventory management to present to senior management
Forecasting sales and inventory requirements
Analysing sales performances
