Business Development Manager (6 Month Contract)


Business Development Manager, London, WC1 (6 Month Contract)

Business Development Manager is required for the London office of this leading commercial law firm. Working within the Marketing Department, part of the Corporate Group, this Business Development Manager represents a pivotal role within the Firm.

The Business Development team is made up of four BD Managers and four BD Executives and provides support to the Firm's London and Regional offices. There is also a comprehensive Marketing Support Services team with which the BD team works closely. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for one Business Development Executive and assisting with the following practice areas; Corporate (M&A and IP), Public Equity Institutions, Private Equity, Banking, Tax, Healthcare and TMT. Overall responsibilities include developing and delivering a marketing and business development programme for each of the areas with SMART objectives and activity campaigns which focus upon business objectives.

Key areas of responsibility include:

- Developing BD plans and obtaining relevant buy-in
- Costing the elements of the activity plan and managing the budget
- Implementing, amending, evaluating and measuring

Key objectives include:

- Assisting in the maintenance of existing client relationships
- Highlighting and encouraging best practice in maximising cross-selling opportunities
- Developing a 'prospect pipeline' strategy
- Other responsibilities include; internal communications, the tendering process, market intelligence, research, processes and procedures, marketing support services (including liaison with the external PR agency) and submissions.
