The price of an unlock is GBP15, you will have custom firmware 3.71 M33-2 or the new M333.80-5 the most stable and the latest custom firmware. Both versions allows you to backup UMD movies to your PC / Mac and also play them from memory stick. There is a recovery console allowing you to boot your PSP into a special menu to alter region code (Japan, EU, Asia, USA, Region Free are all supported) as are other previously locked features. You will also be able to access YouTube and lots of internet programs like PSP radio, etc.. None of this is possible on a locked PSP. There is no problem with warantees as you can pop the Sony Firmware back on if you need to warantee return the unit.
