Multi-trader
You will be working for one of the main contractors who are responsible for the maintenance of local council's and housing associations.
This contractor carries out day-to-day repairs and is responsible for carrying out VOIDS and upgrading homes to descent home standard.
You will have a City in Guilds in one of the main trades. Carpentry, plumbing, electrical or plastering.
You will though be expected to carry out other duties, including brickwork, plastering, tiling, carpentry, plumbing, roofing. On the day-to-day repairs jobs can range from small repairs to fitting new kitchens.
You must have a clean driving licence and your own van.
Any health & safety and first aid courses would be an advantage too.
This position is a contract position, but for the right person, could be long-term.
Hourly rate is negotiable, depending on what experience you can bring.
You will have a track record of working with councils or housing associations and must be able to provide up-to-date references.
