Hello there.

So how can sports massage help you? For those of you who have never tried it? And also to those who have and are in need again.
Sports massage is no longer the domain of solely the sports person. Many millions of people now work at desks, on computers, 8 hours a day, or more, and have developed chronic overuse tension and stress in the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and necks. As well as lower back pain from sitting in chairs. The lack of exercise too, weakening the abdominal muscles, adds to the strain of the lower back (lower back pain is now the single largest complaint in the workforce). This coupled with the emotional stress of living in our fast paced, high pressure society, can lead to many chronic muscular complaints. I know myself from first hand experience of working at a desk for years that overuse and emotional tension can quite literally be 'a pain in the neck'.
Then there are the many other professionals, such as those in retail, on their feet all day, drivers and other professionals whose jobs make daily physical demands of their bodies. And of course there are the many sports people, amateurs or professionals, dancers, actors and the like who are now very aware of the need for massage to maintain performance. Most of us can benefit from sports massage at some stage, and it is highly effective in reducing tension and aiding in recovery from injury. But of course, as with anything, massage by itself can help greatly, but real changes are often needed to reverse chronic conditions.
Sometimes it is great to have a lovely relaxing massage and just drift away, but then there are times when you really want to feel the massage, really need a deep massage, to lift the accumulated tension out of our bodies. And other times when faced with injury, we really need help with a quick recovery. Sports massage employees a variety of techniques, and though it can be a little uncomfortable, and sometimes, in truth, painful, it is often necessary to alleviate symptoms of a chronic nature. Deep compression movements are utilised along with stretches to fully rehabilitate the muscles.
Regular sports massage can make the world of difference between chronic tension and unhealed injuries, and lighter, freer, more mobile muscles, making you happier!
I offer sessions (of an hour or an hour and a half) at The North London Therapy Centre, Hendon, London at GBP40 an hour (there is free onsite parking); at a treatment room in Finsbury Park at GBP45 an hour; and home visits to the North/North West and Central London area, at GBP75 for an hour and a half. Flexible appointments available, including evenings and weekends.
I believe that regular massage is essential in regaining balance within the body, and for maintaining good health, and for this reason, if you book 4 sessions with me, I will give you the 5th session for free! The benefits are accumulative, as is the case with regular exercise and a healthy diet. Your body will thank you for your commitment to your health.
