An Independent Boys School in North West London is looking for Male teachers to join them from September 2008. They would ideally like to employ NQT's (Newly Qualified Teachers) and are willing to pay you through the summer holidays. You get 10hrs a week to plan your lessons and mark the work of your highly academic pupils. There are only 15 students in each lesson, and 180 in the whole school. They are prepared to have you complete your NQT Yr and to give all staff continuing development in modern teaching methods and to equip them with the best tools to do the job.
You will be teaching Age 11 to 18 yr old boys - the "ethos of the school is the old fashioned Jewish culture." Many of the students won't have televisions and won't have the internet at home (just to give you a slight insight) You will be expected to follow the National Curriculum, however some of the syllabus (which would be explained to you) isn't appropriate i.e. some of Shakespeare. You would get all of the Jewish Holidays and Christian Holidays off. You are not expected to start work until 09.30am as the boys have prayers in the morning.
