Administrator, Business College, Central London, 8 month con
Our client, a well established Business College in London, have a requirement for an Administrator on an 8 month contract to provide very high quality / professional administrative support to the Finance and Accounting Group's MSc programmes.
Responsibilities:
* To prepare, organise and edit material for inclusion in joining packs and induction packs for all students at the beginning of each intake
* To collate feedback on the students' attendance and academic performance and communicate these to the sponsoring employers
* To liaise with the admissions team to ensure that all students are registered properly and to resolve problems as quickly as possible
* To be the liaison and facilitate contact between staff and students
* To provide advice to students on routine matters and resolve problems and queries independently as they arise throughout the year
* To ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the course throughout the academic year
* To help organise the students' social events
* Attend Information Sessions and Trade Fairs when required to represent the programmes team and support the admissions team and faculty
* To liaise with faculty members to ensure that course materials are produced, replicated and distributed to the students in a timely manner
* To be the main point of contact providing administrative support in relation to student coursework
* Responsible for collecting all coursework, recording marks and distributing grades and results to students
* To be the main point of contact for the exam process, coordinating the timely production of exam papers, reminding academics of deadlines and liaising with external examiners
* To liaise with internal and/or external providers to arrange for catering for students
* To raise programme-related purchasing orders
* To input application data on the School's database
* Responsible for collating and maintaining all student records during the course
* To assist in marketing the programmes by liaising with the marketing team and the web manager
* Responsible for maintaining the programme pages of the website and keeping them up to date as you deem necessary
* Attend necessary school-wide meetings and programme team meetings as requested by your manager; arrange staff student committee meetings and write minutes at these
* Writing letters for students as requested; assisting lecturers with reference letters
Person Specification:
* A minimum of 2 years experience of office administration, ideally within Higher Education
* Able to and interested in working under pressure during peak/term time
* Reliable and responsible (excellent time-keeping)
* Able to work independently and take initiative to deal with unforeseen problems and circumstances
* Excellent organisational skills
* Attention to detail absolutely essential
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Strong team player
* Flexible and versatile (willing to try/help!), ie customer service oriented
* Generally excellent interpersonal skills, with students and staff (patience, sense of humour)
* Excellent typing and IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email (Outlook) and WWW
* Interested in business/business education
* Experience of working in a higher education (or related) environment is desirable
* Experience/knowledge of WebCT or similar VLE is desirable
