Personal Assistant, London College, Central London, Temporar
Our client, a well known London College, have a temporary 6-8 weeks requirement for a Personal Assistant to support the Principal of the Business School, his Deputy, and the Director of Operations, using a high level of communication, organisational, administrative and secretarial skills. The role requires complete confidentiality, discretion and the use of initiative. Working effectively in teams especially with senior management, faculty and administrative staff at all levels, students and members of the public.
* Support the Principal of the Business School, his Deputy and the Director of Operations on all matters relating to the administration of the Principal's office.
* Establish and maintain the schedule of School committee meetings and associated activities.
* Control diaries, arrange appointments and meetings for the Principal, Deputy Principal and the Director of Operations.
* Organise travel/accommodation, produce travel plans and itineraries where needed.
* Answer telephone and personal enquiries.
* Co-ordinate arrangements together with events organisers for high level events and VIP visits associated with the Principal.
* Liaise with staff and external organisations in the performance of the above duties, including the senior management teams within the School and the College staff.
* Undertake any other duties that the Principal, Deputy Principal or the Director of Operations may deem necessary to support the School.

Experience and Knowledge:
Essential:
* Previous PA experience
* Demonstrated excellent administrative and secretarial experience
* Effective team player with the skills to work with senior management within the College, staff at all levels, students and members of the public
* Excellent typing and IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, database preparation and maintenance (Access), email (Outlook) and WWW
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to get on with people from all backgrounds
Desirable:
* Experience of working in Higher Education
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
Skills:
Essential:
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* The ability to work for several different people who have different needs and to prioritise their demands sensitively using good judgement
* Proactive in your approach with a willingness to solve difficult problems
* High level of organisation and time managements skills
* Organisational skills, with the ability to pay close attention to detail
* Able to produce work to a consistently high standard within tight deadlines
* Able to understand the importance of confidentiality and to ensure that confidentiality is maintained
* Experience in dealing with issues of confidentiality with tact and discretion
* Flexibility to work in a changing environment, within given procedures and regulations
