Elite Web Designer
We urgently require an “Elite Web Designer” with buckets of enthusiasm, style and skill to help us complete a number of projects we have sitting on the table. This is a short term position but may well extend for some length of time.
Who are you?
You are a 100% efficient, a skillful web designer with at least 3 years solid web design history. Someone who can take any business or concept and come up with workable, pitch ready designs within a day, and without guidance. You hate applications such as Dreamweaver and can hand code your designs using valid Xhtml/CSS to a fully functional site within no time.
Your pro-active, ideas driven and love everything CSS, can mention at least 4 good sites that showcase good web design and practices, can quickly analyze a “bad” web design and suggest how to make it right. You understand usability and how to make a design work efficiently for its user base. A strong understanding of branding and can maintain the integrity of a corporate identity while bringing a company forward onto the web. Last but not least, your open minded, reliable and you think your best is never enough.
Skills that are a must have at a high level
Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Adobe Photoshop CS2 or CS3.
Adobe Illustrator CS2 or CS3.
Xhtml (hand coded).
CSS (hand coded).
Adobe Flash 8 (with working Action Script knowledge.
What's more likely to get you a response from us
You have a good command of the English language (written and oral)
You have a formal qualification in a design related field (applicants with Computer Science degrees and so on, please don't waste your time). We want a 100% “web design junky”. Graduates are welcome but you must be able to provide everything in this list.
You can present a large portfolio of high quality, finished online work you have entirely designed and built.
You can provide us with at the minimum 4 LIVE websites of a high caliber. We welcome PDF files but at the minimum you must provide 4 LIVE examples of sites you think are some of YOUR BEST (the more the better). Present these either via links to sites or through your own professionally produced Web Portfolio. Clearly state your involvement but we really want to see what you can do by yourself.
A demonstration that you can produce, clean fresh and unique web designs as easily as frying an egg.
What we don't want to see in your application (applications will be deleted).
Any application that suggests our post wasn't read fully.
Any application that doesn't provide EVERYTHING in the previous list.
If you provide any example sites that uses HTML TABLES for page structure, popup windows all over the place, giant jpg images for navigation and all the other things we hate.
And finally
Your CV should be the last thing of interest in your application, we don't have the time or the interest in reading about your past; we want to see what you can do now. So impress us with your skills, style and finesse. Visually stimulate us with your web design power and we WILL contact you directly for a nice friendly chat and then if all goes well, invite you for an interview.
We are based in Golders Green North West London so you need to be in reasonable traveling distance (1 hour by tube or you drive).
