III. JOB DESCRIPTION

@ Responsibility during operation:
• Electrician works under the Chief Engineer, and is obligated to keep him informed of everything which is of interest within his area of responsibility.
• Operation, maintenance and repair of the vessel’s electrical system and equipment, including the electrical part of hydraulic systems, and that the work is executed in a safe manner according to established safety instructions.
• To assure that condition of electrical systems with related electrical equipment are in accordance to all requirements and regulations.
• To assure that maintenance program for electrical systems and equipment is followed up, including the reporting of completed maintenance, completion of test reports, filling out E/O checklists, etc.
• To assure that emergency batteries are inspected and charged.
• Promptly report all accidents, near miss and non conformances that may happen.


@ Safety responsibility:
• Keep remote Control System for cargo and Radio Station in operational condition at all times.
• Muster on station with required equipment in emergency situations.
• Responsibility according to established contingency plans.
Other tasks:
• Assure that all written and verbal orders are understood and complied with.
• Participate in safety meetings and preparedness drills
• Familiarize with all relevant work and Safety Procedures, and contribute to the implementation of these.

@ Knowledgeable in designing fundamentals network / exchanges, conducting surveys, preparing demand forecast, preparing zone / block diagrams / manhole and cabinet location, fiber optics transmission systems.
