Making film scanning easy;EPSON has found that many users scanning film for the 1st time find the prospect daunting. To make this task as easy as possible EPSON has developed both hardware & software tools to make 35mm film scanning as straightforward and fun as possible. The Perfection 2480 Photo also features a built-in Transparency Unit (TPU) to scan 35mm film, but you must still manually insert the film into the supplied film holder and lock it into position on the flatbed. Up to 3 frames can then be scanned in a batch process. Of course, full manual control is available for the more experienced scanner user.
EPSON Photo Restoration;EPSON Color Restoration takes faded images and restores them to their former vibrant glory. This effect does not just simply brighten & add contrast leading to garish colours. Rather, it carefully calculates highlight & shadow areas and works within the boundaries of those measurements. The results are simply stunning! This feature has also proven to be particularly effective with photos that have been badly processed.
The EPSON Dust Removal tool is the other highly effective element to Photo Restoration. Dust Removal removes dust and other small particles from your film scans. Dust is a particular annoyance when scanning at high resolutions for enlargement purposes: What once was a small spec suddenly becomes a large blemish when enlarged 10x. EPSON Scan's built-in Dust Removal tool is extremely easy to use just check the box and scan as normal!
Multi Photo Feeder;Another new hardware feature available on the scanner is the optional Multi Photo Feeder (MPF). The MPF takes up to 24 photos (10x15cm max) or business cards (50x82mm min) and automatically scans them creating separate images for each a real time saver when archiving or restoring your photo albums.
