Pa to director of fundraising for south london charity 13 pe


Our client, an exciting charity in South London is looking for a Temporary PA to provide support to the Director of Fundraising. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, proactive support in all aspects of the Directors work.
Duties and responsibilities
* To respond to enquiries about donations from the public via e-mail, letter or telephone.
* Respond to enquiries from high profile supporters and sometimes Press requests.
* Act with sensitivity and tact, to inform, advise and persuade, and have the confidence and ability to deal with a wide range of people and situations, both verbally and in writing, including in relation to highly confidential and sensitive material.
* Produce, initiate and compose routine correspondence on behalf of the Director of Fundraising.
* Manage a varied, often unpredictable workload, and organise and prioritise own work in a pressurised environment, with competing demands and tight deadlines.
* Ad hoc support to Fundraising Officers
* To liaise with other Directors and departments to facilitate fundraising projects.
* Manage and keep under review general office systems, especially those required to organise large amounts of paperwork and correspondence.
* Work with, and participate in the development of, computerised office management tools, including computer diary systems, databases and spreadsheets.
Experience and skills:
* Proven experience of secretarial/administration work
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in order to understand the range and content of the work, and the demands placed on, the Director of Fundraising, and therefore the role and actions of the Personal Assistant as the principal supporting post.
* Ability to provide accurate and useful written records of meetings and other discussions, being able to draw out important and relevant points in order to produce clear and useful documentation.
* Ability to identify and represent key points from complicated material and draw to the attention of the Director, or make the decision to pass on.
* Ability to apply a logical and practical approach to problem-solving and to deal with problems constructively and effectively.
* Highly developed communication skills
* Good written communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to manage and keep under review general office systems, especially those required to organise large amounts of paperwork and correspondence.
* Ability to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, internet etc to an intermediate/advanced level
* Good level of numeracy.
The ideal candidate needs to have a flexible approach, excellent time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to work pro-actively on own initiative with accuracy and attention to detail.
Due to the nature of this role, there is no time for training, so previous experience in a similar role is absolutely essential.
