Hard working spanish speaker seeks caring or outdoor positio
Mature Mexican with permission to reside and work in the UK seeks work in a caring capacity, such as assisting with the care of elderly or disabled people, working in a garden, park, nursery or other green/outdoor space, or looking after animals. At present I am employed as assistant to an elderly man, and I help him in his home and with his garden. Unfortunately the position is only part-time and temporary, and I am looking for something more permanent.
In addition to this work, I have 3 voluntary jobs:
(a)I have been working as a volunteer on Hampstead Heath with Heath Hands, helping with tree care, scrubland clearance,pruning etc.
(b) I work as a volunteer at the Whittington Hospital, helping with the hospital library, filing etc.
© I assist with setting up a weekly social tango dancing evening at the London Welsh Centre.
During the past year, I have gained experience working in a private garden in Ireland (for a member of the Garden Society), mowing, planting, carting, clipping, weeding. Last summer I worked on a nature reserve in Spain and greatly enjoyed the conservation aspect of this work, maintaining the appearance of the area by clearing litter and debris. I was also involved in supporting a group of elderly Spanish civil war veterans, and very much enjoyed their stories and company.
During my past career in Mexico City, I bought and sold antique and art books for many years. I was also involved in many cultural events. I am a gentle, friendly, warm-hearted, energetic and flexible person who loves animals and plants. I am physically very healthy and travel everywhere by bicycle.
My hobbies are cycling, swimming, reading, world music and cinema, art and dancing.
