Elearning developer
Our client, a successful college based on the outskirts of the Borough of Sutton are currently looking for a E-Learning Developer.
Job Summary:
To support the development of e-learning resources which promotes teaching and learning.
Main Duties:
1. To lead and administer the development of the VLE (virtual learning environment)along with other e-learning tools.
This includes
Working with the IT Network Support Department and Management Information Systems (MIS)
Management of course structures, user accounts and groups within the VLE
Oversight of appropriate usage by learners
2. To train staff in the use of e-learning
3. To work with staff to adapt existing material and create new course materials into a digital format.
4. To induct and support staff and learners in the use of the VLE
5. To produce consistent and reliable reports for a range of staff from college data
6. To provide technical support for all users of the current College Database Management Systems (DBMS)
7. To maintain links with relevant regional and national networks and projects, so that best practice can be evaluated and transferred to the college.
Essential Qualifications:
Educated to A Level standard, BTEC or equivalent preferably in IT.
Essential Knowledge/Experience:
Excellent skills and understanding of relational databases
Ability to construct complex SQL queries
Ability to write stored procedures in SQL Server and use of ODBC links
Knowledge of web programming languages
Ability to develop and compile web-based learning materials
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Access skills and integration of Microsoft Office applications.
Essential Personal Characteristics
The ability to effectively communicate technical knowledge to an audience with a range of technical understanding
Ability to work on own initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capacity for working under pressure.
