Best of the Best plc is the airport super car prize company which operates from all major UK airports and are now expanding internationally. Founded in 2000, Best of the Best has given away over GBP8 million in cars and prizes to over 200 lucky winners. We have twelve people in our head office based in Fulham, London SW6 and the new role will be within the online marketing department and reporting directly to the online marketing manager.
About the individual
We require an enthusiastic and talented web/graphic designer to work on our website and email marketing campaigns. Best of the Best deal all the time with cars to make any petrol head drool over (Ferraris and Lamborghinis are just the tip of the iceberg) and need a designer who is genuinely passionate about cars. Your ability to bring supercars to life through great design both online and via email is absolutely paramount.
You will be a skilful web designer with who is efficient, literate, and resourceful with a solid portfolio of web design work. You can take any ideas and come up with workable, ready designs within a day, and without guidance. In particular, you will have a strong understanding of HTML email design and be capable of overcoming the limitations presented by it.
Your pro-active, ideas driven and pragmatic approach is essential and you must be pleasant to work with.
Technical and Creative Skills

Adobe Photoshop CS2/CS3
Hand coded XHTML
Hand coded CSS
Dreamweaver 8/CS3
Adobe Flash 8
The following skills are highly desirable
Adobe Acrobat Professional
Adobe Illustrator CS2 or CS3
Experience of managing website content through a Content Management System (CMS)
Basic video and audio editing skills
You have a good command of the English language (written and oral). It is anticipated that you will have a formal qualification in a design related field. We want a 100% web design 'junky'.
You will need to present an extensive portfolio of high quality, finished online work to demonstrate that you can produce, clean fresh and unique web designs which you have exclusively designed and built.
Breakdown of role
If variety is the spice of life, then we are sure that the breadth and diversity in which you can exploit your talents will not disappoint. Working in collaboration with the online team, we would expect a typical month to be broken down as follows:
40% HTML and plain text email design, testing, and delivery
20% creation of static and flash banners, affiliate banners, targeted landing pages and related content.
30% managing website content (new competitions, articles, supercar specification pages, latest news, winner's area and related brochure ware pages)
10% supporting the business with their creative and promotional requirements for airport locations
** Please note: if we chose a freelance candidate, the scope of the role will be far more creative and other CMS-related duties listed will be absorbed internally)
