Our client is a nationwide network of consulting building engineers and designers, working with institutional and commercial clients across a wide range of sectors and disciplines to create award-winning Building Services engineering designs.
Role:
Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to work within existing Building Services team in London City design office. Applicants would ideally be degree qualified and have attained or be working towards chartered engineer status and should be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience in a similar role. This design office is currently working on a variety of projects many of which incorporate renewable energy technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design relative to mechanical installations.
* Undertake design calculations relevant to the design of mechanical installations within major building projects.
* Design mechanical installations including the production of design drawings, diagrams and schematics along with project specifications and schedules.
* Design mechanical installations to meet all existing, relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards.
* Design mechanical installations to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon requirements.
* Work as part of a team to meet project brief and programme requirements.
* Lead an M&E; team in the co-ordination and delivery of individual projects, including attendance at meetings, internal programming, project reviews, etc.
* Provide assistance and support to other members of the engineering team within the office. Undertake constructive peer reviews of other designers projects.
* Demonstrate a wide knowledge and relevant project experience of mechanical systems across a range of sectors.
* Have an understanding of electrical engineering systems and the ability to report on both disciplines during meetings, etc.
Training Programme requirements:
* Commit to goals and objectives of career development programme including attendance of in-house and external technical and non-technical training.
* Commit to achieving or maintaining Chartered Engineer status through relevant professional institution.
* Support the same for other members of the engineering team, including mentoring.
